Handmade here in the Lowcountry from Palmetto Palm fronds. These are made locally when the palm is green and pliable. It will change from green to light brown as it dries or it may arrive already dried. Each rose is unique due to the size of the palm frond used and the makers technique.
The Palmetto Rose has many legends associated with them and are often viewed as an element of the local Gullah culture as is Sweetgrass baskets.
